About HULTZEN TECH

Hultzen Tech is a family-owned business started by two tech-savvy brothers, Tre and Jace Hultzen (Santa Cruz natives). Like a lot of families, they were constantly getting asked for help by friends and family — fixing their computers, updating software, deleting malware and making sure things were plugged in (yes, that actually solved many "mystery" problems). In addition to having a deep appreciation for building computers, coding games and testing the newest tech gadgets, they also realized that not everyone shared the same enthusiasm for tech. In fact, it seemed to bring on a large amount of stress, especially when malware or printers were involved. Tre and Jace started their "tech career" in high school by coding video games and teaching Lego Robotics to middle schoolers.  Soon after, they begun volunteering once a month at the Senior Tech Fair in Santa Cruz. From there they went to work at a Law Firm—installing and updating cloud systems, transferring sensitive data, and teaching the computers to all get along with the printer. It became even more evident that tech was  an integral part of daily life for everyone and that cybersecurity was absolutely imperative, especially for small businesses and seniors.   It was clear that even intelligent, capable people were constantly struggling with technology in addition to falling victim to online scams and feeling left behind by the very thing that was supposed to make life easier. Their lifelong enthusiasm for tech, advanced skillset, and authentic desire to provide friendly, personal guidance was the perfect combination for this dynamic duo!

Tre became a software engineer and worked as a programmer for Age of Learning (based in LA) while obtaining industry standard certifications in IT and Cybersecurity.  He also worked in IT Support at the Geek Squad in Woodland, CA, but noticed the corporate structure was not conducive to personalized help and lacked the warmth and connection he enjoys with his clients. It also became clear that people don't want to stand in lines or leave their devices overnight. 

Jace honed his skills at UC Davis by creating and training AI models, encoding audit system, and working as a business system analyst. He is currently creating AI agents for personal injury attorneys and teaching our clients how to best use AI.

The brothers decided to build a business dedicated to what they had been enjoying their whole lives!  (Can you believe there are people who do this for fun?) Their expert skills coupled with their long hours at the senior tech fair trained them well to offer patient, trustworthy, real-world tech support with a friendly connection. They even let their mom, Andrea, join the team to assist with scheduling, website design, social media marketing and SEO.

Tre and Jace specialize in helping individuals and small businesses feel safe online, providing affordable solutions, and explaining their methodology without the tech jargon. The brothers split their time between Sacramento and Santa Cruz so if you're local in Northern California, an on-site visit can be scheduled, however,  they also provide remote help to anywhere in the world.
